The story of the prodigal son is recorded in the Bible, Luke 15:11-24.
The Lost Son
There was a wealthy father who had two sons. One day, the younger son asked his father to divide the family estate and give him his share. After receiving his inheritance, he left his father and went to a distant land. Unfortunately, he squandered all his wealth in reckless living. When a severe famine struck, he found himself in dire need and ended up working as a swineherd. He was so hungry that he longed to eat the pods the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything. Finally, he came to his senses and realized his wrongdoing, acknowledging that he had sinned against heaven and his father. He decided to return home, hoping to be accepted as one of his father's hired servants.How Precious is the Return of the Prodigal Son
From a distance, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. The younger son confessed his sins to his father, who was overjoyed and embraced him. The father dressed him in the finest clothes and prepared a grand feast. The father said, "For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found."How precious is the return of the prodigal son? The father in the story represents our Heavenly Father. God loves each person with an eternal love, regardless of our mistakes and sins. He is always waiting for us to return and forgives our wrongdoings.
He is waiting for you to become His lost and found child.
