"Parable of the Sower" from the Bible, in Matthew 13:2-9
Where exactly did the seeds fall
A man went out to sow seeds.
Some seeds fell along the roadside and were quickly eaten by the birds.Others fell on shallow, rocky soil. Though they sprouted, their roots couldn’t grow deep, and when the sun came out, they withered and dried up.Some seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns choked the plants, preventing them from growing. Finally, some seeds fell on fertile soil, where they grew abundantly, yielding a harvest—one hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.
Which kind of seed are you?
Whoever has ears, let them hear!
The seeds in this story serve as a parable for God’s word. Some hear God’s message but fail to take it to heart, just as birds swoop down and carry the seeds away. Others are like seedlings with shallow roots—quickly withering and forgetting God’s word when challenges arise. Some hearts are overrun with thorns, unable to receive and nurture God’s truth. But those who open themselves and truly listen to God allow His word to take root, bearing abundant fruit. As Jesus said, “Whoever has ears, let them hear!” May we all bear fruit a hundredfold.
